Forge Motorsport are excited to present our industry leading intake for the Hyundai i30N, Kona N, and Veloster N. This aftermarket cold air intake system improves your Hyundai's airflow in several key ways. It routes the air more directly into your engine, using a huge 102 mm diameter CNC mandrel bent alloy pipe. The aftermarket system also improves the airflow by adding a high-flow, high efficiency air filter in place of the more restrictive factory air filter. Finally, the cold air intake system is set up to allow cooler air to easily flow into your engine
The intake diameters on these air intakes have been carefully tuned to provide exactly the correct quantity of air ensuring solid consistent power gains throughout the rev range without any loss of low-end torque. The pipework is specifically designed to feed the turbo without interruption. The result of this is a gain of induction acoustics under acceleration, which improves the driving experience and adds a bit more drama to the Hyundai’s 2.0 four pot engine.
As always filtration is important when developing an intake, so we once again turned to the industry leaders and Forge long term filtration partners Pipercross. With over 25 years’ experience in both the domestic and motorsport market they recommended a multi-layer foam construction filter, these filters work perfectly in our ‘Hi-Flow’ range. The large filter provided flows 60% more air than the stock filter. (Replacement filters can be found here). The intake is finished off with our unique black thermal powder coating. This kit comes with Forge’s usual detailed fitting guide to help make installation as easy as possible.
Hyundai boast figures of 275bhp and 278lb.ft on their standard vehicle. When we ran our CAT backed performance exhaust development vehicle on the dyno with this intake it reached figures of 296bhp and 310lb.ft!
Interestingly there has been lots of divided opinions about our intake requiring a heat shield. Testing took place with the bonnet shut and replicated wind speeds of around 70MPH. Intake temperatures were logged and monitored along with thermal images taken,. During this testing, we did not see the inlet pipe or intake temperatures rise; even after 4 hard pulls, the inlet temperatures stayed at a steady 30°C.

Induction Kit for Hyundai i30N, Kona N, and Veloster N

DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN
When fitting the filter to its counterpart please ensure you do not over tighten the hose clamp connecting them. Doing so could result in the part being crushed, leading to fitment and/or performance issues. The recommended torque setting for this hose clamp is 2-2.4Nm

Do not use aggressive (acidic) car cleaning products, particularly traffic film remover solutions or shampoos to clean your intercooler, radiator, or oil cooler. The use of these products can damage Forge Motorsport cooling systems and invalidate your warranty. These are often found at car washes. A light, warm, soapy solution (free of harsh acidic cleaning compounds) should be used to clean you cooler and thoroughly rinsed away. We recommend that you should inspect your product on a regular basis for bent and/or crushed fins. Any bent fins should be carefully straightened to allow ambient air to pass through the core face. At the time of installing your Forge radiator, an approved coolant must be used and added to the coolant system. Be sure you never mix coolant and always use distilled water.
This warranty does not apply to any defect in the goods arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, accident, negligence by you or any third party, use otherwise than as recommended by the supplier, failure to follow the supplier’s instructions, or any alteration or repair carried out without the supplier’s approval.

If fitted to a standard Kona n will it affect the fuel to air ratio, will I need to remap the car to suit ?

This product works fine with the standard ECU software but performs even better with a tune.
I would also recommend our FMTIA10 turbo inlet adaptor to accompany the induction kit. With the combined products you will see a noticeable gain in performance.
Is it possible to fit this to the 1.4 tgdi n-line model?
No, and we unfortunately do not have an induction kit for the model in question.
Does this kit also fit the i30 N from 2017

You can install FMINDK28 without our FMTIA but we would recommend purchasing the turbo elbow at some point as it really makes a difference in performance.

Do you need to have the smaller (long) red pipe for this kit or could you use the original pipe from the car?
Hello, to use the dump valve in atmo configaration you will need to use the long hose in the FMINDK28 kit.
