Our blow off valve is designed specifically for the Mini/Peugeot N18 engines including the Mini Cooper S 2011-onwards, Mini JCW Cooper S 2013-onwards, Mini R58 Coupe 2012-onwards, Peugeot 208 GTi late 2012-onwards, Peugeot 308 GTI, RCZ THP 156 & 200, 2011-onwards. This product is either recommended where the boost pressure has been increased by an ECU software upgrade, for those wanting a loud blow off sound, or simply as a solution to the many failures that have occurred.
The most common complaint on the OEM solenoid valve is a split diaphragm preventing the valve from opening fully, or not at all. This doesn’t always result in a check engine light as the valve can still be blown open by the boost pressure. We have seen many valves with this problem.


The other problem is that diaphragm retaining ring is made from very thin plastic that goes brittle with heat cycles and oil contamination, and eventually fails. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing with the same problems as mentioned above. This particular failure also results in the valve falling apart upon removal from the turbo, though in extreme cases bits of plastic can enter the turbo and destroy it.


Our alternative is a fully engineered solution offering both significantly improved reliability. Our valve is piston based, with no diaphragm to fail, and of all aluminium construction, it replaces the original unit with a pressure/vacuum operated piston valve that still also retains the desirable OEM ECU control over valve actuation. The valve has been proved on the VAG scene for many years. The spring is interchangeable for different levels of boost, and the solenoid is plug and play with the wiring harness which is included - as with all Forge products, this valve is guaranteed for life!

Do not use aggressive (acidic) car cleaning products, particularly traffic film remover solutions or shampoos to clean your intercooler, radiator, or oil cooler. The use of these products can damage Forge Motorsport cooling systems and invalidate your warranty. These are often found at car washes. A light, warm, soapy solution (free of harsh acidic cleaning compounds) should be used to clean you cooler and thoroughly rinsed away. We recommend that you should inspect your product on a regular basis for bent and/or crushed fins. Any bent fins should be carefully straightened to allow ambient air to pass through the core face. At the time of installing your Forge radiator, an approved coolant must be used and added to the coolant system. Be sure you never mix coolant and always use distilled water.
This warranty does not apply to any defect in the goods arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, accident, negligence by you or any third party, use otherwise than as recommended by the supplier, failure to follow the supplier’s instructions, or any alteration or repair carried out without the supplier’s approval.

Hello, I have a FMDVR60R for a 2010 Mini John Cooper Works N14 engine. It’s on the standard map. What spring should I be using for this engine configuration, please? Yellow rather than the red uprated spring applied? Is your spring tuning kit (FMDVTUN) the correct kit to buy to renew the spring? Many thanks.
The supplied blue spring (supplied fitted to the valve off the shelf) is sufficient for stock engines, and the red should be fitted for Stage 1/2 levels of tuning; the correct spring tuning kit is the part number FMTVTUN, not FMDVTUN.
Should this recirculating valve make a sound? For example a psshhh noise? As my standard Peugeot 208 GTI has no noticeable noise whatsoever after having this valve fit to the car.

A recirculating valve will give no external sound. for that you will need a atmospheric valve FMDVR60A.
